Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe

Updated on December 30, 2011

Two recipes, one for Chicken, one for an appetizer dip

This buffalo chicken dip recipe is the easiest and tastiest that I have ever had. Its a favorite in our house, and I got the tip for the recipe from my favorite restaurant that serves awesome buffalo wings. The first one is for wings, the second is the buffalo chicken dip as an appetizer.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

One half cup of Franks Red Hot Sauce

One third cup of butter or margarine (butter is better)

Heat and combine the two above ingredients, and toss over baked chicken wings that were cooked at 500 degrees for twenty minutes. This makes them crispy and good. I salt and pepper the wings before cooking as well. Toss or dip into the buffalo chicken dip. Serve with blue cheese or ranch dressing to dip in. It helps to cool it down and we also like to serve it with carrots and celery.

Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe Two

One 8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened

One half cup of blue cheese dressing

One half cup of Franks Red Hot Sauce

One third to one half cup of crumbled blue cheese

Two cups of cooked chicken

Place softened cream cheese into a dish, make sure its deep enough to stir the other ingredients into it easily. Stir in the rest of ingredients, and bake/cook for twenty minutes at 350 degrees in the oven or until hot all the way through. Stir again and serve with chips, crackers or other desired ingredients. Carrots or veggies might be fun as a more healthful option.

**It never fails that you will find us making and serving buffalo chicken wings at fun events like New Year's Eve or at baseball or football games. The top recipe couldn't be easier, and I haven't found a hot wing I like better. If you knew how many we have tried, that would maybe mean a bit more than it sounds. I hope you try it at least once. The second recipe is a nice twist and a fun new dip to try. If people are absolutely against the idea of blue cheese, you can opt for ranch dressing, but it isn't the same, in my opinion.

Hi Debra, thanks for the comment. Using those things as dipping items sound great to me. :) Glad you stopped by.

Anglnwu, thanks for the visit and comment. If you like chicken wings, then this will likely be something you would enjoy. Glad you stopped by. :)

Rosie, hope you do try the wing recipe, they are yummy. My older son would probably like the version of the dip with the ranch sauce, he isn't the biggest blue cheese fan. With both though would be great I think! Thanks for the comment and visit. :)

Mary, dips are so fun for get togethers and parties. This one can be a real flavorful option as far as dips go. Thank you for the comment.

My family loves hot sauce, chicken wings, and anything with jalepenos on it. We made the buffalo dip last year -the only difference is we also put ranch dressing in it; it was really good. I will have to try the wing recipe - we usually don't make them at home. Thanks!

Sounds yummy. I love chicken wings in general, so this sounds like a plan.

SanneL, I like your idea of adding extra chili pepper, I love hot stuff also. I add dashes of cayenne to many dishes I make and love it! Thanks for the comment and bookmark. Glad you stopped by. :)

      This recipe sounds great!

In my family we all love blue cheese and very spicy dishes, so this is something I'll try. However, I'll take it a step further by adding some extra chili pepper.
