My Favorite Easy Dinner Ideas for Quick Dinners

Who doesn't need easy dinner ideas sometimes? Are you often tempted to go through the drive-through on the way home for quick dinners?

Here are a few of my standby quick and easy dinner ideas that I use whenever it's been one of those days. In today's economy, these easy recipes are going to save you money. Not only that, but since everyone seems to be in the drive-through lane everyday after work, these quick dinners will probably also save you time.

They are not only quick and easy, but they taste pretty good, too. Hope you enjoy them!

Steak and Chicken Are Both Easy Dinner Ideas

Steak is one of the fastest and easiest dinner ideas ever! Just put a steak in the broiler of your oven and supper is ready in less than fifteen minutes. Or use an indoor grill. Season it however you wish. If your steak is frozen, it can be thawed out quickly by placing it in hot water for a few minutes. Leave it in its packaging while it's thawing.

Boneless chicken breasts should be a staple for anyone wanting easy dinner ideas. Chicken can be made so many different ways, with so many flavors. One of the easiest and quickest ways to make chicken is like this: Pound the boneless chicken breasts thin. Next, season with a bit of lemon pepper seasoning. Add butter, olive oil, or a mixture of both into either a baking dish or a skillet. Add the chicken. Then bake the chicken breasts or make them on top of the stove. They will be done in a 350 degrees Fahrenheit oven in about 20 minutes, or less than 10 minutes on top of the stove. Or throw them on a grill for about ten minutes, total.

Fish or Seafood for Quick Dinners

Fish is another one of my best easy dinner ideas. I can make grilled or broiled fish in less time than it takes to wait at a drive-through line. Other than sprinkling on desired spices or flavorings, no preparation is needed. And it's ready to eat in less than ten minutes if I broil it. You can also cook fish quickly in a microwave. Plus it's healthy! Use fish filets or salmon steak. If you don't like fish, shrimp and scallops are also quick and easy dinner ideas.

Quick Dinner Ideas so Easy Kids Can Make Them!

I always keep spaghetti or frozen ravioli in my kitchen, along with prepared spaghetti sauce for quick dinners. It comes in handy on sick days. This is a perfect quick and easy dinner idea for kids to make on days when Mom simply can't cook.

One of the Best Easy Dinner Ideas for Quick Dinners in No Time

Bean burritos? One of the best easy dinner ideas around. They are healthy, easy to make, and quick. What makes them even better is that all of the ingredients can be stored in the pantry to be at the ready for those hectic days. I keep tortillas, black beans, refried beans, and salsa in my pantry all of the time. And there is always cheese and sour cream in the refrigerator. I also have a ready supply of onions in my kitchen. Instant quick dinners idea!

One More Quick Dinner Idea

Stir fried recipes are another easy dinner idea. They are so versatile that you are sure to have the ingredients at home for some type of stir fry. And nothing much is needed for side dishes, as they are pretty much a meal in themselves.

Easy Dinners Using Quick Recipes for Side Dishes

Easy dinner ideas for side dishes? Here are a few:
Baked Potato or Sweet Potato- You can make these in a microwave in about five minutes. They turn out soft and delicious. Add whatever you like after you split them open. Simple butter and cinnamon is delicious on sweet potatoes. You can load up a baked potato with all of the fixings and it makes a meal of its own!

Coleslaw- If you keep coleslaw mix, vinegar, sugar, and mayonnaise handy, coleslaw can be ready in less than five minutes. For quick dinners, it can't be beat.

Pasta- Cooked start to finish in less than ten minutes, pasta is a handy side dish. Keep different pasta sauces ready, such as alfredo, and it can't get easier. Or add some sauces of your own, such as tomato sauce with added spices and herbs or a homemade cheese sauce.

Rice is another easy side dish that is quick to put together. Rice is so versatile that it accepts practically any flavor to complement an entree. Examples are rice and beans, Spanish rice, rice pudding, and cheese flavored rice.

There are lots of healthy side dishes you can store and keep handy for quick, easy dinner ideas any time. Some suggestions are pickled beets, canned bean salad, sauerkraut, frozen vegetable mixes, pasta salad kits, frozen corn on the cob, and frozen rolls.

The Best Place to Find Easy Dinner Ideas and Quick Dinners

Also, the deli is your friend whenever the need arises for easy dinner ideas. If you don't have anything ready to fix at home, instead of going to a fast food restaurant and ordering greasy cheeseburgers and fries, go to the grocery store for quick dinners.

The deli has lots of healthy, fresh food to choose. For instance, I can grab a rotisserie chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, and fresh rolls all from the deli section of my local grocery store. Then I stroll just a few feet away to the express checkout lane. I'm in and out of there in about five minutes. It ends up costing less, taking less time, and being healthier than grabbing fast food from a restaurant. Talk about easy dinner ideas!

I also grab at least a couple of the sides from the deli whenever I go to the grocery store. That way, if a hectic day pops up, I already have them waiting to go with a quick recipe for an easy meal to put together. If I don't need them for that purpose, I just use them with some other meal I prepare and it still saves me some time and effort.

Be Ready With Ingredients for Quick Dinners

Try to keep the ingredients for at least a couple of these easy dinner ideas handy at home. Also try to have some standbys available to go with them, such as frozen vegetables, frozen biscuits, and salad fixings

That way, whenever the need arises, you can just whip up one of these easy recipes and have a meal ready in no time.
