Falafel Republic: Fresh Falafel in Your Supermarket

Updated on January 31, 2011

Are you a fan of fresh falafel? Do you wish it was easier to make falafel or that you didn’t have to search far and wide to find it? If you don’t have the time and energy to make falafel yourself and you don’t want to purchase from a restaurant or food vendor so often, you’ll be excited to discover that fresh, delicious falafel from Falafel Republic is now available in supermarkets throughout the U.S.

About Falafel & Falafel Republic

Falafel is a staple of the Mediterranean diet and is one of the most enjoyed and sought after ethnic foods in the United States as well as in other countries around the world. It tastes great and packs a powerful nutritional punch that makes it a perfect option for just about any eating plan.

Falafel is certainly not the easiest dish to make from scratch – but with Falafel Republic available in supermarkets – you don’t have to prepare it yourself! Instead, you can keep a supply of fresh falafel in your refrigerator to toss in the microwave (or traditional oven) to enjoy any time that you like.

Greg Bukuras, founder of Falafel Republic, states, “We’re excited to be the premier company to deliver a fresh ready-to-enjoy authentic falafel that consumers can purchase at a supermarket.”

Enjoying Falafel

Falafel contains chickpeas and fava beans combined with onions, parsley and a blend of Mediterranean spices and herbs. It’s formed into a ball and fried. The result tastes great served by itself or topped with a Mediterranean sauce like tzatziki sauce or tahini sauce. It’s a great snack or can be a main course or side dish for lunch or dinner. Many people enjoy Falafel wrapped in a fresh pita bread pocket while others like it as a salad or pasta topping.

Try Falafel Republic Yourself

If you’re ready to try Falafel Repubic falafel, just look in the deli section of your favorite supermarket. It should be located near the containers of hummus, as well as other Mediterranean products carried by the store. Two flavors are available: traditional falafel and roasted garlic falafel. Each container has nine one-ounce balls of falafel. While the exact pricing may vary from one store to another, the suggested retail price for each container is $5.99.

Falafel Nutritional Overview

Falafel is a great source of fiber and protein. It is also low in calories and packs a powerful nutritional punch. Falafel does not contain any gluten, so it is an excellent food choice for individuals who are following a gluten free eating plan.

Thanks for pointing out Falafel Republic. I had no idea it existed but I see that it is offered in stores near me. I very much love falafel but wish it wasn't fried. Do you happen to know how Falafel Republic products are made? If I'm not mistaken, frying is what gives falafel it's shape and texture and lovely added taste.
