Fast Breakfast Recipe Idea For The Hungry
I wanted routine in my life and got two Border Collies who are O.C.D. about their routine. Border Collies are beautiful intelligent dogs who will drive you crazy if they are not have work. Every morning we get up, go to the park, exercise, come home and eat breakfast. There are always vegetables and eggs in my house. Today there are no eggs. After the park we go to the store. There are these mouth watering New York style bagels "Yum ,fresh from the oven". "My. my they smell good". Ever since I read Shesabutter fly's hub on late night snacks I have been craving, "Everything", bagels. The kids won't eat an "everything" so I buy two for myself. I said I was hungry. When I am hungry, I am not only surly, selfish is a term you could apply to me. I bought 10 other bagels for the rest of the family.
On my grocery list is turkey luncheon meat. Pastrami is on sale. I am really hungry. The sale is two for one. One pack of turkey for the family, one pack of pastrami for me. That really sounds bad. If I weren't so hungry I would never even consider buying pastrami. This is why you don't shop when you are hungry. Everything I see has possibility I am so hungry; pastrami, eggs, veggies, everything bagel, it all sound wonderful. I have got to get home to eat. Starbucks doesn't even slow me.
- 2 eggs
- Handful Chard
- 1 Everything Bagel
- Sprinkle garlic salt
- Enough to coat pan olive oil
- Favorite cheese
- Sliced tomatoe
- slice pastrami
- Coat frying pan with olive oil Stir fry a handful of chard until limp
- Add two slightly beaten eggs to chard until set
- Reduce heat and Flip eggs warm tomato slices (optional)
- Add pastrami to pan until heated
- Split bagel and Toast (optional)
- Combine ingredients to make your sandwich. Season to taste

The possibilities for this breakfast sandwich is limitless. You can use any style of bagel you like. You can use bacon or sausage or no meat at all, . Any style of eggs will work. You can omit the veggies or add more. Cheese is definitely optional. If I hadn't been in such a hurry I might have added fresh rosemary and thyme from the garden to the eggs. The calorie content for this sandwich varies from greatly according . A sandwich that has no meat or cheese will be about 460 calories using a generic bagel. Add meat and cheese you are looking at 890 to 1,000 calories. Before you cringe at the calorie count think about your day. A full bagel with all this stuff is enormous. It could have easily been shared by two people or split and eaten for two different meals. This was my breakfast and lunch. The day before I had burned 1,500 calories in 8 hours doing running errands writing and doing housework. I consumed this breakfast after walking the dogs a mile and grocery shopping, I ate at 10am and the day exploded after that with getting ready for a trip and included a 190 mile drive. Dinner was at 7pm. followed by a beautiful walk on the beach at sunset.
