Homemade brick oven styled home!

It all started back in 1905 when Italian immigrant Gennero Bruno opened the first pizza establishment, "Lombardi's" in New York's Little Italy and sold pizzas for a nickel. Some couldn't afford to buy the whole pie so he began selling it by the slice as well. Fast forward to today and our love affair with pizza is stronger than ever. Our love for pizza has morphed into a cult and we can't seem to get enough of it! Thick or thin, deep dish or pan, white or red, pizza is the craze in any season and for any reason! And speaking of seasons and reasons......

With Spring right around the corner, we're all anxious to set up the deck or patio and get cooking in the great outdoors again. But this Spring will be better than ever before because although a grilled pizza sends your taste buds into outer space, a pizza fresh from your outdoor oven is food from the Gods. I mean, who doesn't like brick oven style pizza?!!

Stick with me here and explore the new kid on the block.....the Blackstone 1575 Outdoor Oven!

Almost better than a brick oven

Why? Because it's mess, no fuss. Just turn the ignition switch on. This oven heats to full temp in as little as 10 to 15 minutes...and full temp is around 660 to 700 degrees. The incredibly high temps allow you to cook a pizza in as little as 2 to 3 minutes! You no longer have to sit around and drool for what seems like forever for your pizza to finally be ready. Your beer will still be ice cold when you take your first mouthwatering bite of piping hot pizza!

This oven isn't wood fired, so you're not going to get the smoky flavor in your pizza like brick oven pizza has, but it will have the same characteristics of a true brick oven that wonderful, puffy, soft, chewy dough. Oh, yum! The toppings come out perfectly browned and crispy too...and the cheese is pull-apart, bubbly, stringy, gooey and wonderful.

Don't you just love it when you take a bite of pizza and when you pull it away from your mouth there's a long string of cheese tethering you to the slice? You can have that every time now!

The Blackstone Outdoor Oven in and outs

First off, it's attractive. It's not this big, ugly, obtrusive eyesore. It actually looks good on your deck or patio!

It's on wheels so you can move it around.

With 60,000 BTUs, this oven gets good and hot, good and fast! It produces a quick, even heat so that your food cooks uniformly.

Heats up in 10 to 15 minutes.

Cooks an amazing pizza in 2 to 3 minutes!

This oven can heat up to 700 degrees!

Two pizza stones (one in the top, one in the bottom) allows the heat to radiate.

Battery powered rotisserie turns the bottom stone slowly so that your food cooks evenly.

No carcinogens clinging to your food!

Domed top creates convection heat.

Is your mouth watering yet??

Multi-tasking pizza oven

It's great to have a pizza oven, but let's face it, who wants to eat pizza every single day? Well, okay....I guess some people can but most of us like a little variety in our food.

The good news is that this oven is great at multi-tasking...and I love things that multi-task!

You can cook pretty much anything with this thing....bread, calzones, vegetables, fish, chicken and even steak. Although I've not personally tried anything but pizza, other people have and have had fantastic results. Some people have actually gotten rid of their other grills and just use the Blackstone now. Whatever you can cook on your outdoor grill, you can cook on the Blackstone.....and then some! The rave reviews are that this oven cooks everything quickly and evenly.

Unevenly or undercooked pizza is a thing of the past...the Blackstone does it the way it should be done and the proof is in the pie.

What a fabulous invention! And the price tag is more affordable than having a brick oven built.
