Make Christmas dinner and any other family dinner into a special occasion by carefully selecting your silverware set. It is not necessary to spend hundreds of dollars to find good quality silverware and these are the best sets I have found for less than $100 - in fact - most of them are less than $50.
It is amazing how your perception of a meal changes based on the utensils you are using. No wonder fast food is so bad for us. You eat it with your hands and wolf it down in minutes.
Recent studies show a strong correlation between how long is spent eating a meal with obesity rates. Needless to say - the USA eats fastest and has the highest obesity rate in the world.
So - slow up, take your time and enjoy your meals with decent silverware.
