Five Guys Burgers and Fries - Review

Updated on April 23, 2014

Wonderful Grease

Once upon a time, Five Guys Burgers and Fries only existed on the east coast. If, like me, you were stuck in the midwest, you had to go well out of your way to find a Five Guys. In recent years, it has been expanding across the country, providing more people with the chance to try the greasy goodness.

As fast food places go, it is a quirky place. A free, endless supply of roasted peanuts are sitting in large bins, so you can munch on them while you wait for your burger to be cooked. When you finally get your food, it will arrive in a plain brown bag, the grease oozing liberally through the paper. Inside the bag, if you ordered fries with your burger, you will notice that the fries have been dumped generously all over the place. The burger will be wrapped in what appears to be aluminum foil.

The bag can barely contain the goodness within.

Just what every burger needs, a side of peanuts.

The Best?

Is Five Guys the best burger in the world? That's the real question. Among fast food burgers, it is absolutely in my top three, right up there with In-N-Out Burger and Whataburger. The Five Guys burger tastes very fresh, is made exactly to your specifications and is very juicy. It definitely puts most fast food burger places to shame.

Behold, the Burger!

There are a crazy amount of ingredients available, but I prefer my burgers simple.

But What did the Kids Think?

And it's Award Winning!

Five Guys is definitely award winning, and better than your average drive thru by far, and yet, seeing a picture of that greasy bag is way worse than seeing it in person!
