TASTIEST GOAN FISH CURRY

A mild fish curry from beautiful Goa. Cooked in coconut and other spices to give it a creamy flavour.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 Cod fish fillet, (1 fillet cut into 3 pieces)
  • 1 cup Coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp Dessicated coconut
  • 1tbsp Tamarind paste
  • 3 tbsp Sunflower oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 5-6 Curry leaves
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 2-3 Black peppercorns
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 4-5 Garlic cloves
  • 3cm piece Fresh ginger
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tsp Suger

COOK TIME

Prep time: 15 min
Cook time: 25 min
Ready in: 40 min
Yields: Serves 5

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Grind together the dessicated coconut, black peppercorns, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garlic cloves and ginger. Add this curry paste to the coconut milk and boil for 10-12 mins over a medium heat.
  2. Add sugar, salt and the fish pieces. Cook over a medium heat for 5 mins. Add tamarind paste and stir gently.
  3. Heat the oil in a small pan and add mustard seeds, curry leaves and chopped green chillies. Cook on a high heat. When they turn brown add them to the curry.
  4. Serve with boiled rice.

      My maid made this recipe ... it is awesome .. i became fat cause of eating too much .. :) but i loved it .. cheers
