How To Cook With A Solar Oven - With A Few Modifications - It's Easy

  1. Place solar oven so reflector faces sun for maximum reflection (generally south).
  2. Preheat oven as per instructions. Use oven thermometer to check temperature.
  3. Follow recipe as you would for a regular oven, adjusting water amounts.
  4. Place food into a covered dark pot and place in oven (or in the pan that comes with the oven). Remember the darker the pot the better as it absorbs heat.
  5. Double conventional cook times, but pay attention to the food.
