How To Cook With A Solar Oven - With A Few Modifications - It's Easy
- Place solar oven so reflector faces sun for maximum reflection (generally south).
- Preheat oven as per instructions. Use oven thermometer to check temperature.
- Follow recipe as you would for a regular oven, adjusting water amounts.
- Place food into a covered dark pot and place in oven (or in the pan that comes with the oven). Remember the darker the pot the better as it absorbs heat.
- Double conventional cook times, but pay attention to the food.
