Great Crockpot Recipes-Chicken and Noodles

This is an easy way to make no fuss chicken and noodles. It works well to throw in the crockpot before you head out for the day, then when you get back finish it off and it will be ready to eat. Another way to alter the recipe is to add a package of refrigerated biscuit dough on top about 30 minutes before the dish is done. This is also really good served over mashed potatoes.

Yields: serves 6-8

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 pound broiler/fryer chicken cut up
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 package (8 ounces) egg noodles
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in crockpot. Season with salt and pepper; add all liquid. Cover and cook on Low 8 to 10 hours (High 4 to 5 hours) Remove chicken from broth. Turn crockpot to high and add noodles. Bone chicken and cut up meat. Stir chicken into noodles. Cover and cook 30 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
