Green Beans and Potatoes the Light Way

I loved the taste of smoky ham with my beans. But old ways included using bacon grease and/or pork bones. I found a way to add that great smoked pork flavor without adding the fat content. Read below to find out how I recreated this dish with much less fat.

Cook Time

Prep time: 15 min
Cook time: 40 min
Ready in: 55 min
Yields: six servings

Ingredients

  • 1 can cut green beans
  • 2 large white potatoes
  • 1 package Goya Ham flavored concentrate, powdered
  • 5 sprays Spray butter
  1. Peel and cube potatoes. Add just enough water to cover. Boil potatoes for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add canned green beans and Ham concentrate to pot.
  3. Return to boil and lower heat continue to simmer until water level starts to decrease and potatoes soften.
  4. Add buttery spray before serving and stir to mix.

      I do like this tasty combination. I do not know about the Goya ham concentrate...will have to look for it.
