Tasty Chocolate Banana Treats
Eating healthy can be hard at times, and sometimes we get those chocolate sweet cravings and we can back fire by grabbing any quick candy bar. But there is hope for our healthy lifestyles. This is a healthy, entertaining treat for both kids and adults.
Only Extra Prep Time is freezing after preparing (Prepare 4 hours prior to serving)
This recipe will be make 8 tasty treats
You will need
· 4 tablespoons of shredded coconut
· 1/8 teaspoon allspice
· 1.8 teaspoon sea salt
· 2 tablespoons of raw agave nectar
· 2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder
· 1 tablespoon of carob powder
· 3 tablespoons of water
· 2 tablespoons of raw tahini
· 4 bananas ( peeled and cut in half)
· 8 wooden Popsicle sticks
First put coconut in a bowl so it’s ready to sprinkle on coated bananas
If you have a narrow glass that holds a cup, or a deep bowl, add salt, allspice, cacao, carob, agave and water. Site until smooth.
Add tahini and stir until smooth, if it becomes too thick add 1 or 2 tablespoons of water. The sauce shouldn’t be too thick or too runny.
Insert a wooden stick in the cut end of each banana. Holding the stick, dip the banana in sauce, coating half of banana, then turn upright so sauce runs down the rest of the banana. Or if in a deep bowl carefully roll the banana in the mixture. Hold coated banana over coconut and sprinkle with coconut. When coating the last bananas use a spoon to drizzle the sauce over the bananas. Lay bananas in a container, cover and freeze. Leftover sauce and coconut is yummy just on its own.
You can coat the chocolate covered bananas in other yummy ingredients like walnuts, pecans, or carob nibs. Really it is your frozen treat, and you can make a different flavor each time you make them. Enjoy!
