Healthy hummus dip for kids

How to get kids eat their fruits and especially veggies? A delicious and healthy dip or a dipping sauce is the secret to make it easy for kids to consume raw vegetables. Having the children involved while making the dip encourages them to eat it later. The dip can contain healthy vegetables like cucumbers,  carrots, onions, tomatoes, or leafy spinach. It is always challenging to get kids to eat the right stuff. Plenty of fruits and vegetables are a must in their diet to keep them healthy and energetic. Try these healthy and delicious dips for kids and involve them in the process of preparing these dips.

Hummus Dip Recipe

In a blender, put together some grabanzo beans (chick peas), fresh garlic, cumin seeds ground finely, some EVOO, and a teaspoon of lemon juice (I prefer freshly squeezed lemon juice from lemons rolled before squeezing) and sea salt to taste. Grind on low speed. Add water until dip reaches your expected consistency. Sprinkle some chopped dill over the dip. Cover the dip with a plastic wrap and keep it in the fridge for a couple of hours. Hommous is filled with nutrition and can be used as a dip for vegetables, pita bread or in sandwiches or on pretzels. Kids love hummus due to its salty flavor. Add Sesame See Paste (tahini) to the hommous.

Peanut butter dip is another good choice of dip for vegetables. If your kids are not allergic to peanuts, this is indeed a healthy dip especially if you buy organic peanuts. Plain Yogurt or curd made at home can be a great dip for the summer season. Cut some mango and mix it up in the yogurt along with cilantro and salt to taste.

Kids love snacks and dips and make sure to provide them with the best - healthy and delicious dips for kids to make them eat their fruits and raw vegetables.
