Healthy and Delicious Breakfast Snacks
As a mom or dad, you may have your hands full with getting up and getting your kids ready for school. One of the important things of starting your day is to make sure that everyone has something to eat, even if it is a snack. Eating in the morning jump starts your metabolism, boosts your energy, and helps you to stay focused on a task that needs to be done.
K Special Bars
K Special Bars are 90 calories per bar and can consist of cereal, peanut butter, chocolate, or even granola. The fact that the K Special Bars can come in many varieties is good for those who may dislike a certain flavor and/or are allergic to something such as peanut butter or chocolate. You do not have to cook these all you have to do is give them to your child as they are walking out, if you are in a hurry or have them eating it before you take them to school. These bars can also be for you and your husband if you like, not only for your children. They are nutritious, high in proten, and very delicious. I highly recommend these for your family.
Fruit And Cheese
Fruit and Cheese together do not contain alot of calories and does not contain sugar or fat. It is very healthy and nutritous for your children or for yourself. You can use any fruit or cheese that you desire. I think that the best cheese and fruits would be apple slices and cheddar oreven grapes swiss cheese or cheddar. Whatever fruit or cheese you want to use is completely up to you, once again. It is not mandatory that you specifically choose apples or swiss cheese. This delicious snack is quick and does not require cooking. You can give this to your child as you are leaving your home.
Peanut Butter Waffles with Bananas
Minus the sausage which is high in fats, peanut butter waffles with bananas is simple, quick, and easy. Instead of using syrup which is high in fat and sugar, you can subsitute that with peanut butter. To give this quick breakfast an even more delicious flavor you add bananas. Bananas are high in potassium, which people need on a daily basis. Likewise, peanut butter fills you up and is packed with Vitamin E and potassium. All in all, I would try this quick and easy snack for breakfast. The only thing you would have to do is of course heat up the waffles in a toaster or conventional oven, whichever you prefer. Instead of using bananas, you can always use raisins or oatmeal.
A strawberry shake is simple and very quick to make. You combine instant breakfast powder with (no sugar added) that can be strawberry or vanilla with cow milk or soy milk, which will ensure that the shake doesn't contain alot of fat. These ingredients can be combined by using a shaker or a blender. After you've blended or shaken the mixture to the texture that you like, you can then add some strawberries or bananas as you choose. Making sure that you put this mixture into an 8 oz glass instead of a 16 oz glass is crucial for kids who don't want as much or if you are in a hurry.
Ricotta with Tomatoes
The picture above is a simple and tasty treat that does not require cooking. You take a slice of bread and spread a couple of teaspoons of low-fat ricotta on it and then add tomatoes. Drizzle with a little olive oil and add a sprink of pepper and salt. It is quick and easy to make and will be a great snack for yourself or your kids. It does not contain sugar or alot of fat, which means that it is nutritous and will not add alot of bad ingredients into your body. On the contrary, your body does need some sugar and fat but too much of it may result in diabetes, weight gain, and heart disease.
Egg McMuffin may be served at a fast food restaurant but they are quite nutritious. It contains alot of protein from the egg and the canadian bacon. In order to reduce the amount of calories that you are intaking, you should take off the top half of the egg mcmuffin and not eat it. If you find it easier to go to McDonald's instead, I suggest that you get the Egg McMuffin. As a drink for the Egg McMuffin, I would suggest that you add apple juice or orange juice.
Whole Grain Cereal
Whole Grain Cereal is alot healthier and more nutritous than brands such as Cocoa Puffs, Fruit Loops, or Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Instead of using 2 % or whole milk, you should use soy milk which is alot healthier and contains less fat. In order to give this cereal a litttle more flavor, you can cut up sum strawberries and add it to the cereal or add some blueberries.
Plain Doughnut w/ Chocolate Milk
A plain doughnut is alot more nutritious and healthy than a doughnut such as Krispy Kreme or a doughnut that is weighted down with sugar and chocolate. Eating half a doughnut with a side of chocolate milk will reduce the amount of calories and to add flavor while your eating the plain doughnut. I recommend this especially if you are use to doughnuts with sprinkles, glaze, and chocolate. Instead of using chocolate milk that may contain fat you can substitute the milk with soy milk or cow's milk and add small bit of nesquick. This avoids fat and calories that you may not want.
