Homemade Taco Mix and Easy Slow Cooker Taco's
I don't know if you have ever looked at the ingredient list on a taco seasoning mix, but it is horrifying!! I decided for the health of my family, I would start making my own mix, to keep on hand for quick easy meals. My kids love tacos, mainly due to the topping bar. Everyone can customize their own to taste.
I also love using my slow cooker on weeknights to make dinner time a breeze. This taco seasoning can be added to chicken breasts, along with jarred salsa for chicken tacos. Just shred with two forks before serving. I sometimes roll this in tortillas to make quick enchiladas and bake in the oven.
The best thing about this recipe, is you can control the amount of salt according to your own dietary restrictions. Enjoy!
