Hot & Sweet Nuts

Updated on February 21, 2011

Easy and very good

Ok I was watching my favorite T.V. channel Food Network and they were visiting a Diner that prepared this recipe. However they didn't give exact amounts so I just had to play around with these nuts...:O) and here is what I came up with, hope you enjoy.

Assorted nuts, unsalted (cashews, almonds, peanuts, brazil nuts, sunflower seeds, walnuts) whatever suits your fancy.

Rosemary pieces.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. and have a cookie sheet ready.

In a bowl I mixed Olive oil, brown sugar, garlic salt, sea salt, ceyenne pepper and a splash of white wine (to help disslove the sugar) and stirred it all up.

It will depend on how many nuts you use, I only had almonds on hand and made a small batch for me. I actually cooked them in my toaster oven.

Cut a sprig or two into small pieces of the rosemary and coat them also, placing them on top of the nuts.

OK now pour the nuts into spiced up mixture in the bowl and stir them to coat well, spread out on the cookie sheet, avoid layering.

Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes maybe 15...when done place in a bowl (one large or several small) and serve warm, they taste best when hot along with the beer or what ever you have to drink.

After they cool if there are any left, store in an air tight container, they are great cold too...:O) Hugs G-Ma

Sounds great, I couldn't have salt on my nuts....but the sugar spice would still make it good I am sure. Maybe just a sprinkle of course sea salt, I think I will try that after the bake, there are certain nuts really good for us I been meaning to start on anyway. Thanks, great hub

Used to watch Hee Haw as a kid. I remember Grandpa Jones cleaning a window (the pane of which was not there) and then everyone shouting "Hey Grandpa what's for supper?" Then GJ would go into this list of foods that not only sounded like you wanted to know the address but also did it with rhyme. I felt like that when I read this hub. You make me smell it and look up your address. hahaha hugs ma.
