How To Boil Water

Boiling water is very simple but there are a few things that should be pointed out. This article will go through the basics and point out a few things that you may or may not have thought about.

Step 1

The first step is to get a pot that is big enough for the amount of water you will need. If you are going to add contents to the boiling water make sure to have enough room in the pot for the contents as well. Also make sure there is room enough so it does not boil over. A lid will also be helpful.

Step 2

Once you have your pot ready add the desired amount of water to the pot.

Step 3

Turn the burner on to high. Let the pot filled with water set on the burner until it boils. Be sure not to leave it on too long or you may lose too much water and not have enough for your needs or if left on long it will disapear completly through evaporation.

Other Tips

 1. Do not let steam into your face. It could burn you just as bad as the boiling water.

2. Remember that when water boils it is turning into a gas and the longer it is left boiling the more water it loses. You may have to replace water if you forget about it on the stove.

3. If you have children or pets around the house be sure to keep them away from the hot water. One tip is to keep the handle of the pot towards the center of the stove that way a child will be less likely to reach the handle and spill boiling water on his or her self.
