Caramel Sauce For Ice Cream

The only thing in the world that tastes better than ice cream is ice cream with caramel sauce..

The good news is that it is very simple to make your own caramel sauce and you probably already have all the ingredients that you require.

It should take no more than 10 minutes to prepare and cook this delicious recipe ready to be served with your favorite ice cream or dessert of your choice.

The ingredients that you will need are 2 Tablespoons of Butter, 1/2 a cup of brown sugar, 1/2 a cup of cream and 1/2 a Tablespoon of vanilla essence..

So with that being said lets get started with the recipe!!

Caramel Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar, Brown
  • 1/2 Cup Cream
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Vanilla Essence

Caramel Sauce Instructions

  1. First of all get your self a medium to large sized frying pan or pot in which you will make your caramel sauce.
  2. Heat your pan on a medium heat and melt 2 Tablespoons of butter.
  3. Add your brown sugar (1/2 a cup) and whisk well until they brown sugar and butter are well combined.
  4. Now add you 1/2 a cup of cream and bring the sauce to a simmer and turn the heat down to low and continue whisking your sauce until it thickens up.. Don't forget to add your 1/2 Teaspoon of salt as well.
  5. Add 1/2 a Tablespoon of vanilla essence just before you finish cooking your caramel sauce whisk it in and it is ready to serve on top of your ice cream.

Summary

So as you can see it is very simple to make this caramel sauce recipe which goes great with ice cream. Especially French vanilla and vanilla flavor ice cream. If you don't use it all at once you can put it in a container and store it in the fridge for a few days.
