Easy Oat Biscuits To Make
- half pound margarine / butter, half of each if you like
- 2 cups quick cooking oats
- 1 1/2 shredded coconut
- 1cup cake flour
- 1 Tablespoon golden syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 2 pinches salt

Instructions / How to make the biscuits
- Melt butter and syrup on top of the stove on a medium heat.
- Stir the bicarbonate of soda into the above syrup mixture until it froths.
- Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Add butter syrup and soda to dry ingredients.
- Mix well with a wooden spoon and pour into a flat greased baking pan, press down well with back of spoon. Should be about half inch thick.
- Bake in a moderate oven 180 degrees centigrade plus minus thirty to forty minutes. The biscuits must be golden brown on top.
- Cut into squares with a large sharp knife while hot and leave to get cold, before removing them gently from the pan. Sometimes I will put them back into the switched off oven after having cut them. This ensures that they will be very crisp.Remember to leave the door open if you choose to do this
- Remember not to eat too many. Let them last for a few days. With kid's this is virtually impossible.
