How To Make Dumplings From Scratch!

Hello, I am going to explain to you how to make these awesome

dumplings in and easy to read and understand recipe guide.

This not only tastes wonderful but they are also very easy to make and

for many different entre's. So ladies, lets get ready to cook. This is a Must Have Recipe!

Items Need for this Recipe

  • Blender
  • Large bowl
  • Large spoon

Cook Time

Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 20 min
Ready in: 30 min
Yields: This can make 20-30 dumplings depending on size

Ingredients Needed

  • 3 tablespoons of shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoons sea salt
  • 3/4 cup of milk (organic)

Note: If you are using self-rising flour, you will not need the baking powder and salt.

Plus I prefer it personally.


Instructions for Dumpling Recipe

  • Cut Shortening or fresh butter into flower
  • Mix in baking powder and sea-salt (skip this step if using self-rising flour) this will leave a crumbling look
  • Stir in your milk ( organic milk optional )
  • You can drop by the spoonfuls into your hot liquid ( be careful )
  • Or you can roll these out adding flour and cut these into fourths and drop into hot liquid.
  • Cook uncovered for 10 Min's, Then covered for 10 Min's.

This will make about 20-30 depending on how large or small. Larger dumplings will be less.

Dumplings are wonderful in, Stews, Soups, Chicken and Dumplings, in chicken broth, butter, fried, or boiled by themselves. they just simply taste good. I will share some additional recipes for different styles of dumplings in the recipes below.

  • For Cheese Dumplings :
  • Add 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar to the recipe and additional one ounce of Flour

  • Parsley dumplings:
  • Add 3 tablespoons of dried parsley

  • Herb Dumplings:
  • Just add 1/2 teaspoon of ( sage leaves, celery seeds or dried thyme into the flour. Or you can add your own favorite herbs.

      I've never made dumplings from scratch but maybe I should give it a shot. Doesn't sound very complicated as your hub and all the instructions is easy to understand.
