How To Make Mega Meatloaf Burgers

Updated on February 12, 2012
My Meatloaf burgers.
My Meatloaf burgers.

Mega Meatloaf Burgers are a different twist on everyday ho- hum burgers and meatloaf. These burgers are moist, juicy and full of flavor. There is just the right amount of BBQ flavor in the burger. I like to use a spicy or robust flavor BBQ sauce. Make the burgers thick to get the full flavor. Try them for yourself and see. I am sure you will like them and want to make them again. I like to serve mine with a nice Macaroni or potato salad and pickles on the side.

Ingredients:

** 2 1/2 lbs Hamburger

** 3 to 4 eggs

** 1 cup seasoned dry bread crumbs

** 1/2 a cup Parmesan cheese

** Salt & Pepper to taste

** 1 cup of BBQ sauce. Any flavor you like. And keep some extra for topping if desired.

** 1 green bell pepper chopped

** 1 red pepper chopped

** 1 onion chopped

** olive oil

** Provolone or American cheese

** Hamburger buns

Additional Extra Toppings:

** Tomatoes, onions, lettuce and pickles

In a bowl mix the hamburger, eggs, Parmesan cheese, salt & pepper an the BBQ sauce. In a frying pan, add the olive oil, heat til hot, then add the onions and peppers. Lightly saute, then add to the meat mixture. Shape into patties. I like to bake my burgers in the oven, as I will do with the meatloaf burgers. I line my baking sheet with tin foil, it makes the cleanup a lot easier. You will notice in the picture that the BBQ sauce caramelizes. I bake the burgers in the oven at 350 til done. About 30 to 45 minutes. Place the burger on a toasted or heated bun, top with the cheese. You can use either BBQ sauce or ketchup, mustard or mayo on top of the burger, and add any extras you like. Just building on this flavorful burger makes the possibilities endless. These Mega Meatloaf burgers will be a hit on any table. They are especially good for any get together or party. I can even picture making these burgers out on the grill in the summer.
