How to Make Homemade Alfredo Sauce

Alfredo sauce is one of the most popular Italian sauces around! Your here to learn how to make Alfredo Sauce so without wasting any more time, let’s get on with it!

Simple, homemade Alfredo Sauce is quite easy to make if not very easy. Most Italian restaurants will be judged by the Alfredo Sauce based on its flavour, quality and time taken to cook. Of course, why wouldn’t anyone rate a restaurant based on Alfredo sauce, it’s like the country’s main food source.

What is Italy’s Main Food Source?

To be honest, many people believe that Italy is well known for pizza and pasta. However, Italy has a diverse number of foods throughout its regions. Pizza was introduced to the north from the south of the country a while after World War 2 whereas the north introduced both risotto and polenta to the south. The introduction to fast foods from the United States has added more food choices to the country as well.

Apart from just pasta and pizza, Italy is well known for the 400 types of cheeses they have made. Parmesan, mozzarella and asiago are some of the most popular cheeses around the world all from Italy.

Herbs are another common ingredient for cooking in Italy. These include basil, parsley, rosemary, sage, thyme and oregano.

How to Make Homemade Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients for making simple, homemade Alfredo Sauce include:

· 1 1\2 C butter

· 2c. grated parmesan cheese

· 1 1\2 C and 2 tbsp of heavy cream

· 1 lb of dried pasta

For a better, favourable homemade Alfredo Sauce, be sure to buy quality Parmesan cheese from your local store or supermarket. Avoid buying Parmesan cheese that is packaged in cans. Quality Parmesan cheese will just increase the tastiness of the homemade Alfredo Sauce so you know you spent your time making a quality recipe.

Instructions

1) First of all, prepare the pasta the way it is mentioned on the package. Don’t worry much about it now until your Alfredo Sauce is ready. Melt the butter, heavy cream and half of the Parmesan cheese into a saucepan and cook with low medium heat.

2) Once the pasta is ready, drain it and pour it all into a bowl along with the cheese mixture. But you need to make sure that the cheese mixture is ready to pour onto the pasta. You will know this once the cheese mixture becomes thick and creamy. Season with pepper and salt and serve! Enjoy!

As you can see, that is it! There are no bits and bats that seem hard to do and you should be enjoying your homemade Alfredo Sauce now with little effort required.

Mmmmmm! Adding mozzarella is brilliant. Next time I make alfredo you can be sure I'll have a big chunk of it ready to go. Did you use fresh or the preserved (not fresh) kind? I don't know what the legit term is. Would either work?
