How to Make Quick Tomato Sauce

Updated on February 17, 2016

For years, my mom used to make puree sauce every week when she made meatballs and sausage. Then she discovered that just making tomato sauce was a lot easier, less time consuming and just as tasty. If she makes meatballs, then she needs to use the pureed sauce, otherwise, she just makes a quick sauce.

First, she browns garlic and onions in some oil.

Then she puts in the tomato sauce and seasons it with garlic powder, parsley or basil, and oregano.

She cooks it for just about 15 to 20 minutes and you have a very delicious tomato sauce ready to be served over pasta.

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 1tp oregano & garlic powder
  • 1 leaf basil or parsley
  • 1/2 onion
