How to Make Cake

Making a simple sponge cake is the easiest of the lot. This is a great start to learning how to make a cake before getting into other varieties.

Ingredients include:

·         3 medium eggs

·         Self raising flour

·         Caster sugar

·         Margarine

·         1tsp of baking powder

·         Icing sugar

·         75g of unsalted butter

To start off, you need to weigh the eggs. If they weigh 200g, then you would need 200g of sugar, flour and margarine. In a mixing bowl, keep beating the margarine and sugar until the mixture is very thin and creamy so that a spoonful of the mixture doesn’t remain on the spoon once it is tilted.  Afterwards, break the eggs into the margarine and add the flour as well as any other flavouring that you are using for your cake. This could be chocolates, oranges, lemons or carrots. Start mixing the ingredients altogether and slot in as much air as you can.

Once the mixture is complete, place the mixture into a cake tin and keep it inside an oven with a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius. Make sure the cake is inside the oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Once the sponges have been cooked, you might want to make a simple icing sugar with flavouring if you wish.

Overall, making cakes should be fun and mesmerizing. Everyone would love to glare at their homemade cake if that is if it is correctly done. Hopefully, now you should be on your way to make excellent and delicious flavoured cakes for you entire family.
