Stealth Grow Boxes "A Hit"

If you are planning to grow with a grow box whether it be peppers, tomatoes, or other, you should have a good estimate on the actual size of grow box that you really need for the operation. There are a few basic types or sizes of grow boxes out there on the market in which you can grow stealth: pc grow boxes, mini grow cabinets, grow boxes, and larger grow tents. If what your trying to do is grow enough produce for just yourself to consume, then you should probably stick with one of the actual “grow boxes” that are available on the market instead of the actual “grow tents”. These grow boxes can actually pack quite a punch despite what a lot of people are saying in the indoor gardening world, and can one of these grow boxes can supply oneself with plenty of produce. If you are to get a decent yield from the grow box like the grow box venders will tell you that you will get, well then you will need to grow with hydroponics. Hydroponics will essentially double your growth rates in a grow box and yield you nearly double the amount of dried finished product when you're done with your crop.

I highly recommend before you get into growing with grow boxes is to go out and check out a couple books at the library that will tell you about best practices when growing with hydroponics. There is a lot to know about when trying to manage your growing medium when using hydro because it does tend to fluctuate a lot day to day. An experienced hydroponics grower will check his or her nutrient solution two or three times per day with testing equipment that has been properly calibrated. Now, don’t be scared, everyone has to start somewhere when growing with hydroponics in a grow box, but do not let this stop you from actually going out and growing with that grow box and getting your feet wet. A few failures never hurt anyone, and since you can live to grow another day, there is no foul.

If you think you can actually get by with only a pc grow box when you start out growing with grow boxes, then you might or might now be lying to yourself. A PC grow box can actually produce nearly 1 ounce of dried plant material given you do have moderate growing ability and can actually keep your pc grow box in an area that has good ventilation. What’s important to know about pc grow boxes is that cfl grow lighting that are present in most of the pc grow boxes out there will not give you very good fruiting. CFL lighting is mostly only good for vegetative growth. If you are expecting to get that 1 ounce number that I have previously mentioned, then you need to pick up a pc grow case that has mini hid lighting system in it.

Now, a lot of people will say HID is too hot for a pc grow case, however this is simply not the case if the pc fans installed on the grow box itself are running at a decent rate. I have tested this myself a few times and never had any problems with regulating heat myself.

To make sure you get the maximum amount of flowers on your plants contained within your grow box, make sure you train your plants while they are growing. This will ensure they are using all potential space possible inside the computer case itself. The most successful growers will actually spiral the plant stem itself to take advantage of the extra surface area that the arrangement provides to the plant.

Now, if you have a bigger appetite, then you should definitely be looking at a grow cabinet for its weight producing capabilities. Even a smaller grow chest or box will produce sometimes up to 2 to 3 dry ounces of tomatoes or peppers per crop if you know what you're doing. A bigger grow cabinet that stands 5 or 6 feet tall will deliver up to 12, so you have to make up your mind to what your looking to do; feed yourself OR feed your whole family.

No matter what size of grow chest or box you choose, I do recommend that you follow some simple guidelines to make the most of your space and grow potential:

1. Start budding your plants soon after you plant them from seed as not to overcrowd the space your in. After flowering hits, you can expect the plants to double in size after this point in most cases.

2. Use a led grow light system to give you some extra clearance, but only if it is a super high quality usa made system.

3. Top the plants your growing as to create short bushy formations with lots of heads or tops. This will create the maximum amount of flowering sites for your plants to produce on.

4. Use a nutrient addition with silica in it to keep plant stocks thick. This will allow you to further enhance the stubby shape of your plants.

If you follow these four steps, then you should be able to get the kind of numbers that I have suggested above, thus ending up fat and happy.

There are a lot of other factors that come into play such as keeping your grow medium ph between 5.5 and 6.5, keeping grow temps between 72 and 80 degrees, and making sure to keep your grow box free of pests, but I will leave this information out of this article. The important thing to remember is that you want to keep leaves to a minimum when growing in a grow box and actual flowers and blooms taking up as much space as possible. After only 3 or 4 attempts at growing in a grow box, you should have plenty of knowledge about doing it right, and be happy about your purchase.
