Yields: Serves two to three people

Ingredients to prepare Paneer Tikka :

  • 400 grams Paneer or cottage cheese, (Cut in to 1 inch cubes)
  • 1 Big Onion, (cut in to 1 inch pieces and separate the layers)
  • 1 Tomato, (Remove the pulp and juice in the center and cut in to 1 inch pieces)
  • ½ Capsicum, (cut in to 1 inch pieces)

Ingredients for Marinating Paneer Tikka:

  • 3 tablespoon Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Fenugreek leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoon Mustard oil

Ingredients to prepare Paneer Tikka Masla :

  • 2 Big Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 Tomato (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup Cashew nuts (grind to paste)
  • Refined oil
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Red chili powder or Kashmiri chilli powder(for good color)
  • 1 table spoon Coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon Garam masala
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ½ inch piece Ginger (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • Water
  • ½ cup Milk cream
  • ¼ teaspoon Kasoori methi
  • Coriander leaves (chopped, for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Take a pan and pour 2 table spoon of oil and heat it. When the oil is hot put the chopped onion inside the oil and fry the onion till they become golden brown.
  2. When the onions got fried put the ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  3. Now add the chopped tomatoes in the pan and fry them. Allow the tomatoes to get nicely cooked with the onions.
  4. When the tomatoes are cooked, put red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, salt and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  5. When all the ingredients are nicely cooked, put the chopped ginger and saute.
  6. Now pour the grind cashew nut paste in the pan and saute well.
  7. Pour 1 cup of water in the pan and close the lid for them to cook well. Allow them to cook for 3 minutes.
  8. Finally, its time to add the prepared paneer tikka in the pan and mix well with the ingredients.
  9. When the paneer tikka is settled in the masala, pour milk cream and switch of the flame.
  10. With the heat present in the pan, saute the milk cream well with the masala and put the kasoori methi leaves, lemon juice.
  11. Garnish the dish with chopped coriander leaves.
  12. Paneer tikka masala is a yummy recipe which can be served with parata, chapati or indian bread, naan or roti.
