How to make lasagna roll ups

I recently made this for the first time and I was very impressed at how easy this is to make and also how easy to serve. With a traditional # lasagna serving can become messy at times and sometimes it can even fall apart. I found this idea on pintrest as they have some really great recipes on there. I really love using this site as I find a picture that interests me and I click on it and it takes me right to the recipe rather than a site that is trying to sell me something, which is actually fine with me and can even be interesting but when I am looking for a recipe I just want to find the recipe. So as you may know from reading my other articles or recipes hubs that my oldest does not eat meat and my youngest is a dialysis patient and many meals we eat are not acceptable for her dietary restrictions. I am able to tweak this recipes make a few different trays and everyone eats. No one complains and I am a happy mom. I usually make one with meat I like to use lean ground beef and mild or sweet italian sausage. One will be only cheese and a very small tray with just a little meat a little sauce and a little cheese and that will satisfy the little ones restrictions and still let her enjoy a tasty meal. I like to serve this meal with Garden salad and Garlic Knots. When I made this last my oldest daughter actually made homemade garlic rolls from scratch. She complained they came out a little heavy but in fact they tasted really good. Be sure to make a light dessert after this meal as its very filling. The really great thing about Lasagna Rollups is that they taste even better as leftovers.
Lasagna Roll ups
- 1 box Lasagna Noodles, cooked
- 1 pound Lean Ground Beef
- 2 links Sweet italian Sausage, or your preference
- Ricotta Cheese
- Mozzerella Cheese, shredded
- 6 cheese italian blend, shredded
- 2 cloves Garlic, chopped finely
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 onion, chopped
- 1/4 green pepper, chopped
Cooking Instructions with meat
Put sauce in sauce pan with tight fitting lid and put on a very low. Get your your chopping board and a good knife and a garlic press if you have one. Chop your onions and peppers and garlic. Add your dry seasonings to sauce and ground beef. Add half to your sauce and stir well and replace lid. In a frying pan chop ground beef add remaining onions, peppers and garlic, brown meat. In a sauce pan boil the 2 Italian sausages and when done chop finely and add to ground beef. When this is complete drain grease and add to sauce. Let sauce simmer. Boil your lasagna noodles. When done drain well and put your olive oil in a little bowl. If you have a cooking brush go ahead and use that if not a spoon will do. I usually lay out 4 noodles at a time on something flat like a large cutting board or tray. I brush on a little olive oil on top of the noodle, then I take a spoon of Ricotta cheese and spread that across the noodle now add a few sprinkles of the shredded mozzarella and italian blend cheese and spread that across whole noodle and now add your meat sauce and spread over the noodle.Don't use to much or when your roll your noodle it will fall out of the sides so just use enought to spread all ingredients evenly across the noodle now roll up the noodle and place in baking pan. Once this process is complete with all noodles cover remaining noodles with remaining sauce and sprinkle shredded cheese on top place in preheated oven of 350 degrees until all cheese are melted. Now when you are ready to serve each guest can have their own individual lasagna roll ups.
Lasagna Rollups with out meat
I follow the exact instructions minus the meat and I add a little more cheese and use a plain sauce that will just have the onions, peppers and garlic and of course the dry seasonings.
