I Love Mushrooms - Stuffed Mushroom Recipe
Benefits of mushrooms
Have you ever wandered across a paddock at dusk picking fresh mushrooms to use for dinner or breakfast the next day ?
Maybe you grow them in your vegie garden & are looking for new ways to use your mushrooms in cooking and baking .
There are so many ways to enjoy mushrooms in a meal and the good news is that mushrooms are great for your health as they are
a source of powerful nutrients
low in calories
help to strengthen the immune system
so enjoy them everyway you can.
Diferent ways to enjoy mushrooms
I love mushrooms in most of my meals so here are some of the ways I use them myself.
Grilled or fried with bacon/ sausages & eggs
In a lasagna or spaghetti bolognese with garlic,onions,broccoli + meat
Mushrooms stuffed with bacon, cheese & garlic sauce or
Mushroom sauce on steak
Mushroom soup for lunch
Sliced raw in salads or coleslaw
Chicken & mushroom pie or chicken mushroom & cheese triangles !
Where I used to pick mushrooms - near Ashley NZ
I used to live not far out of Ashley where we lived on a beautiful spot with fresh blackberries, a stream + mushrooms !
4 rashers of bacon
4 large mushrooms
3/4 Cheese or ordinary cheese
Half cup of diced tomato
Small amount of fresh chopped garlic or minced garlic
Remove the stalks & dice
Cut the bacon into strips & fry with stalks in garlic
Mix the cheese, tomato + bacon stalks in garlic together
Place the mushrooms on a lined bake tray & spoon the ingrediants into the mushroom topping it with a bit of cheese.
Bake them for about 15 minutes till they are golden brown .

Types of Musrooms
There are many types of mushrooms as well as toadstools which look simular so if in doubt DO NOT EAT THEM.
The ones I use are in a picture below & I buy them at the supermarket these days.
