I love Olive Garden Restaurant
Olive Garden Restaurant in South Dakota
At least one person agrees with me
Earlier this year, Marilyn Hagerty became a celebrity restaurant critique when she wrote a review of Olive Garden. What made Ms. Hagerty’s review so interesting is that she is an 85-year old freelance writer. Her review of the newly opened Olive Garden was published in her local paper, the Grand Forks Herald. The article was entertaining but sincere. Many people poked fun at the article. I confess … I love Olive Garden.
Signature foods at Olive Garden include: breadsticks baked on site, salad with Olive Garden house Italian Dressing, and 5 delicious soups. Twice a year Olive Garden features a bottomless pasta bowl. Currently they are running a “dinner today and dinner tomorrow” special on 4 pasta entrees. Their menu includes a variety of chicken, beef, pork, vegetable, and pasta entrees.
Health concerns are addressed
For those who are concerned about healthy choices or special dietary concerns, Olive Garden offers gluten-free entrees and a light version of the Italian dressing. The menu is annotated to show heart healthy selections. The extensive nutrition guide includes: calories, total fat, saturated fat, sodium, carbohydrates, fiber and protein.
Olive Garden best breadstick ever!
All you can eat
The breadsticks are warm and soft. They are coated with garlic and butter. The salad looks like a plain salad but the salad dressing is very tasty. Servers will refresh the breadsticks and salad as long as you can eat them ... I think. They never refused to bring out more for me.

Try it ... if you haven't already
Olive Garden is not considered fine dining but it is enjoyable dining. I could eat there just for the warm, sometimes hot, breadsticks. Olivegarden.com shares recipes on their website for some of their entrees. The price is reasonable enough that I would rather go to the restaurant, enjoy the ambience, and chow down. Try it out!
