Healthy Benefits Of Chicken

If you are anything like most people you have been eating chicken because you have heard it is one of the preferred meats for a healthy diet. Maybe not, you might be eating chicken because you simply like it.

I became rather curious about why chicken is good for you . So I did a little digging and came up with the information that I will be sharing with you.

  • It’s a great source of lean protein.
  • Chicken is rich in retinol, alpha and beta-carotene and lycopene that are all derived from vitamin A.
  • Eating chicken helps you to control and suppress the homocysteine levels and this protects your heart against various cardiovascular diseases.
  • Chicken breasts provide zero grams of carbohydrate, so they are a low-carb food.
  • Chicken can help to promote good eye health.
  • Vitamin D in chicken helps in calcium absorption and bone strengthening.
  • The vitamin B6 present in chicken helps to boost the metabolic rate of your body, meaning it helps to easily digest the food without storing it as fats in the body, leading to weight loss.
  • Chicken breast is also a very good source of selenium, phosphorus, vitamin B6, and niacin.

All of these health benefits are pretty impressive. Impressive enough to encourage me to add more chicken to my diet.

Poultry builds lean muscle mass in dogs and delivers Omega 6 fatty acids that help sustain healthy skin and shiny coats. It’s also a great source of essential amino acids and glucosamine, which helps promote bone health.
