International Delight Almond Joy Coffee Creamer Review

Coffee and Almond Joy - the best combination ever?
Coffee and Almond Joy - the best combination ever? | Source

It took 25 years for me to first experience the tastes of an Almond Joy bar, but the moment it first hit my lips it was like love at first... taste. Imagine what it is like to see a cutie across the bar. Someone who you instantly feel like you've known forever and must make yours. That is how I felt about the Almond Joy bar. I wanted to instantly go online and order a lifetime supply of the product. I'd be broke and morbidly obese, but I'd be in heaven eating bar after bar of coconutalicious goodness (yes, I made that word up just now).

Just like the candy bar, the International Delight Almond Joy coffee creamer also somehow escaped my radar. And I am not exactly sure as to how because I have some strange obsession with coconut. Afterall, I'm one of those weirdos who thinks the Lindt White Chocolate coconut bar is better than sex; the moment of bliss I feel letting the chocolate melt in my mouth is better than anything in this world reasonably should be.

My Rating

4 stars for Almond Joy Coffee Creamer

Mmm, mmm coconut!

First thing I did when I bought the creamer was take a big 'ol wiff. I just had to because, of course, one would expect when trying a new food product, you'd take a sniff of it first. It smells sweet and like coconut, but not exactly like an Almond Joy bar. So, I just had to take a taste.

After shaking it, there is a large amount of bubbles on top, so I dipped my pinkie in and got some of those bubbles. Oh my goodness. From the very first taste I was obsessed. I don't know how they did it, but this stuff tastes exactly like the bar, minus the texture, since you know, its a liquid.

The taste in the coffee is rather watered down, because I refused to put more than 2 TBSP in my coffee, since I am suppose to be losing my pregnancy weight right now. But if I could, I'd pour half of the container in 6oz of coffee. No lie! Actually, I am lying; if I had my way, I'd drink is straight from the container. Sip after wonderful sip. Ooooh, gooodness yes. But at some point I'd probably realize that it'd be less calorie dense to just eat an Almond Joy bar. Yes, I am a genius. Thank you.

A couple tablespoons of this is more than enough to slightly flavor my coffee, though. I drink small cups of coffee, about 6-8 oz in my favorite small mug, so if you were to drink a larger, oh say, 16oz cup of coffee, you'd probably want to add more of it, because I believe if any less were used, the Almond Joy flavor wouldn't really be noticible.

It doesn't taste like the candy bar when just a couple of tablespoons are used in the coffee, but it is enjoyable. I like the flavor of itself a great deal and I do love it in my coffee, but I honestly think I prefer the regular french vanilla creamer because the same amount seems to flavor the coffee a whole lot more.

In any case, the product is wonderful. It tastes great and flavors coffee enough, but I do think there are better creamers out there, so I have to give it a four out of five. If it were a drink instead, I'd give it a five. Technically, it sort of is a drink, since it comes in liquid form. Or at least you could make it a drink, but I think if I did that, I'd have a heart attack by age 30.
