Agribusiness Rocks

Agribusiness really rocks in the world today. It is taking over the world today. One needs to strive to keep in step with it.We need to embrace it to survive.

  • Agribusiness supplies food to the world. Without it the world is plunged into famine which can easily wipe out the whole world.
  • Agribusiness is a revenue earner. It provides us with money. With the money we are able to purchase other essential commodities.
  • Agribusiness supplies us with fertilizer, machines and labour for our farms. Without such,it becomes hard to produce crops for sell.
  • Agribusiness is one the worlds leading employers. It employs human personnel in all fields of planting, harvesting and sales of farm produce. With employment one is able to feed his family, educate and clothe them.
  • Agribusiness Ensures that there is proper movement of produce from the producer to the consumer. It is the actual movement of the farm produce.
  • Agribusiness kills boredom. At-least people are busy engaged in production and marketing of the produce.
  • With agribusiness we ensure adequate food supply.

Let us try to embrace agribusiness.

An introduction

Since the internet has finally taken over the time of most people in the world especially the youth, little time is given to agriculture which happens to be the core of life in the society. Majority of our youth will be found glued on computers, ipads and in cyber cafes instead of being in the farm producing food. Agriculture suffering neglect means that in future we won't have enough food to feed the growing world population.

This background presents a platform in which we are supposed to educate our society the need for farming and involving ourselves in agribusiness. The United Nation's (UN) Food Agricultural Organization (FAO) has set a good example in agribusiness that should be replicated. FAO leads in the international effort to defeat world hunger. In addition to providing technical assistance services ,it develops methods and statistics for food and agriculture.

There are also some other agencies that assist agribusiness all over the globe. Such Agencies include among others Foreign Agriculture Services (FAS) of the US Department of Agriculture. New Zealand Trade Enterprise (NZTE) and Agricultural and Agrifood Canada (AAFC) are also some of the world agencies that assist agribusiness.

Having said these,we need to know that agriculture is useless unless we can market our produce so as to earn income and make the produce to reach those in demand. Agribusiness therefore is the vehicle by which the farm produce travels to the consumer. Agribusiness is the insurance cover that compensates the farmer for his sweat. The monetary gain ensures the farmer also gets the necessities that he needs for himself and his family. It ensures that the farmer gets the supplies and farm implements and machinery he needs to produce more. It is the fulcrum on which all farm activities revolve.

Suffice to say, agribusiness combines two major practices;agriculture and business. and also all activities and disciplines related to food production.I think agribusiness should be ranked top in comparison to other socio-economic activities.

I respect your desire to feed the world. Unfortunately it hasn't worked. Agribusiness, I agree is a food production & business combined along with a lot of stats, chemicals & pollution.

I think Permaculture, especially local, is the way to go. Working and growing that which will naturally grow in different types of environments along with that environment as opposed to altering the natural environment which adversely affects everyone & everything. Growing food that benefits humans locally & on behalf of the earth and ecosystem for generations to come. Using heirlooms as opposed to GMO's that destroy my choice to grow clean food that comes from the earth & starves/kills pollinators & the only ecosystem we'll ever have.

Here are some devastating articles that you may want to check out...

      and also

      Hub Pages:

      Losing the Right to Eat

      Sustainable Urban Farming

      Heirlooms, Organics & Hybrids...oh my!

I'd love to Feed the World too. I embrace the idea of doing so by including the entire ecosystem for sustainable farming rather than quickly profiting from killing things that affect the farmers and the ecosystem and all the creatures who don't look like us.

      Very sincerely
