Let's Bake Rainbows!

Updated on July 29, 2012

In the kitchen, cooking with a toddler can be a lot of fun. Be sure to have a lot of paper towels!

My wonderful 3 year old enjoys baking with mommy. There are many things we have tried like a bunny cake for the Easter Bunny. But, my little Kaydence's favorite dessert that we bake is the rainbow cupcakes.

This gives my three year old the opportunity to experiment with pretty colors. She learned what colors made purple and what colors made orange. By mixing, and pouring she is learning and does not even realize it! What's better than that?

Kids can be fun in the kitchen but be prepared for a big mess! With my little girl I have to always wash her hand because she just has to pick her nose or butt. Only while we are cooking or baking. (Go figure!)

Their are many different recipes online that you could use.

This sounds super fun! I'll have to try it with my son. He also loves to cook with mommy.

That is an awsome idea. How do you get all the colors in the cake like that? My sister makes the best cakes and I would love to share your idea with her.

Get a small bowl for each color that you want. Dye each one the color you want and one by one put the colors on top of each other. It shouldn't mix, we had no problems and we used a boxed cake mix!

I really want to do this one over with better pictures.
