Looking For Coffee Cake Recipes For Easter Morning

Sour-Cream Coffeecake

Begin 2 hours or a day ahead

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

1 1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter or margarine

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sour cream

2 eggs

1 tsp.baking powder

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1. In a small bowl, combine nuts, cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar; set aside. Pre-heat oven to 350.F.Grease tube pan 9 inch one.

2. In large bowl with mixture at medium speed; beat 1 cup sugar with butter until light and fluffy. Add REMAINING INGREDIENTS; beat at low speed until blended, conatantly scraping bowl. At medium speed beat 3 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl.

3. Spread half the batter in pan; sprinkle with half the nut mixture; repeat layers. Bake 60 - 65 minutes until cake pulls away from side of pan. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes; loosen inside edge; invert from pan onto wire rack; cool, serve warm or cold. serves 8-10

I use all organic ingredients myself including butter. Enjoy G-Ma :o) hugs

      Very nostalgic. I remember growing up in the Midwest we almost always had coffee cake Easter morning (at home and at church). Is it some kind of German tradition or something?
