4 stars from 6 ratings of Make Ahead Thanksgiving

I do not know about you, but I am always looking for a way to make thanksgiving faster and easier. One of my ways of doing this is making everything I can ahead of time. These are some of my favorite apps I make every year.

Make sure to check out my make head side dishes, and desserts for thanksgiving.

Hot and Spicy Pecans

These Pecans are not too hot because my kids like to eat them to. You can always add more or less heat as you like.

Hot and Spicy Pecans

Prep time: 5 min
Cook time: 20 min
Ready in: 25 min
Yields: feeds 8 people

  • 3 Tbsp. butter, melted (I like sea salt and olive oil butter for this)
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Honey
  • 1 tsp. cayenne
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 5 c. pecan halves
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  1. Pre heat oven to 350
  2. Mix all but Pecans in bowl add pecans and toss
  3. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes stirring every 5 minutes.
  4. Store in an air tight container for up to a week before meal.

Goat Cheese Spread

This can be made up to two days before thanksgiving, and it is always a hit. Serve with bread slices or crackers.

8 oz Cream Cheese

4 oz soft goat cheese

1 clove garlic, minced

1/4 cup chopped fresh herb to your taste ( I like oregano, basil, tarragon, and chives)

Pepper to taste

In a food processor, mix the cheese, herbs, and pepper until creamy. Store in air tight bowl. Serve with the crackers

Ranch Deviled Eggs

I love the Classic Deviled egg, but for this one I add a bit of ranch. Everyone seems to like them even my mom who dose not like deviled eggs. These eggs can be made the day before

12 eggs

1c mayonnaise (I love the olive oil mayo)

Salt and peeper to taste

3 tsp Ranch dressing Mix

2 tsp. mustard

1 tsp. sugar

2 Tbps sweet pickle relish

paprika for topping

Boil eggs for around 15 minutes till hard boiled. Cut in half and remove yolk in to a bowl. Place empty whiles on plate. mix everything in with yolks, and fill the egg whites top with

My thanks giving apps are always done buffet style so people can help them self. Along with these family favorites. I also set out a vegetable plate made with cheery tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, celery, pickles, olives, and bell pepper, along with ranch dips. and a fruit plate of strawberry, bananas that where toss with lemon, apples also tossed with lemon, and grapes with melted chocolate source.

I hope you enjoy these recipes, and good luck with your meal. Please leave your comment below. :)

I think everyone has a family loved devil egg recipe. For me the closer it is to the old fashion the better.
