Indian Mango Smoothie and Plain Yoghurt Lassi
500g ripe mangoes(peeled and coarsely chopped)
2 cups yoghurt
2 tbsp heaped sugar
2 cups ice(crushed)
2 cups water
a few pistachio nuts(grated and grounded)
3/4 tsp cardamom grounded
a few strands of saffron
Add all the ingredients in a blender and blend except pistachio nuts and saffron strands.
Pour the mixture in tall glasses and garnish with nuts and saffron strands.
Savoury Plain Yoghurt Lassi can be made replacing sugar,nuts and cardamom by salt,roasted cumin seed powder and mint leaves.
Hmm...now let's make the Plain sweet yoghurt Lassi! Yumyum!!
500g low fat plain yoghurt
2 tbsp castor sugar
3/4 tsp cardamom (grounded)
8 cubes of ice
a few pistachio nuts (grated and grounded)
a few rose petals for garnishing
4 cups cold water
Blend all the ingredients except nuts and rose petals in a blender.
Add the liquid to tall glasses and garnish with pistachio nuts and rose petals.
