Best Dessert and Cake Recipes for March
Best desserts and goodies for March with links to the websites so you can try out the recipes - these are my divine delectable wants and needs!
.... don't forget to follow my favorite recipes on Pinterest
There are so many amazing and creative people out there on the internet sharing their wonderful, wonderful desserts and I have decided to showcase each month some of my personal favorites, this is also a great way for me to store where to find the recipes as there's nothing worse than months later looking for something that you wanted to make and not being able to find it. For those of you who have been following my cookery themed hubs will already have heard of my friend Jane and our desire to go out to dinner and eat lots and lots of desserts, well this hub is in keeping with that plan and a precursor to the actual event.
I hope that you'll enjoy looking at, drooling over and hopefully trying to make these, if you try any of them do please, please, please let me know what you think of them.
Ready - Steady - Drool ....................
Flourless Chocolate Hazelnut Cake
How's this for a starting point, this chocolate and hazelnut cake is layered with white chocolate mousse and frosted with chocolate ganache. What initially drew me to this delightful cake was a search for a flourless cake as my son's girlfriend, hi Laura, is allergic to gluten and I wanted to make her a cake so that she didn't miss out on having dessert.
Chocolate Espresso Layer Cake
I love chocolate, I can't live without espresso, or cake for that matter and so this definitely ticks all my boxes. I think the hit of espresso doesn't really give the cake a coffee flavouring but it increases the depth of flavour in the chocolate.
Orange Chocolate Toasted Pecan Sticky Buns
In my mind, which is admittedly rather warped, this fabulous creation happened when a Terry's Chocolate Orange met a Sticky Cinnamon Bun, fell in love and had little toasted pecan babies - need I say more?
Chocolate Chip Pecan Butter Horns
Again with the incredible chocolate and pecan combination which for me is one of my ultimate favourites, I haven't tried making these yet but I hope to in the very near future, I suppose the Butter Horns are similar to Croissants, they're definitely a similar taste and I can't wait to test out the theory.
Caramel Filled Brownies
Some Hubs just get better and better as you read, with this particular selection on the goody goody yum yum chart I think you'll agree that things have just got better and stepped up a large notch. Can't believe I have never thought of filling Brownies with Caramel but now that I've found them I can't stop thinking and dreaming about them. Just look at this photograph - okay click the link and go make these gorgeous dreams.
Skillet Brownies with Caramel and Chocolate Sauce
If you want something that's really quick to prepare, 5 minutes, not too long on cooking 40 minutes and something that tastes fabulous, this is the dessert for you, but shhhh don't tell anyone it'll just be our little secret.
New York Style Baked Cheesecake with Cherry Sauce
I have always adored Cheesecake, when I started working and took my hard earned cash out to find some lunch I found a tiny sandwich bar, not much more than a hole in the wall just outside Euston Station in London, it was run by an Italian family and not only were the people serving rather attractive the food was sensational and in prime position in the chilled cabinet was the most gorgeous Cheesecake, and my favourite? Well cherry of course. This wonderful New York style baked cheesecake brings back memories of those mouthwatering days and I hope that you enjoy this as much as I do now and did once upon a time long ago.
Gateau Grand Marnier - Orange Liqueur Cake
Grand Marnier is a French liqueur, which I drink straight poured over ice, the heat penetrates every inch of your body with heady orangeness, this cake with it's almonds and orange liqueured sponge is a delight - I can't say more than that as I have to go and eat another slice of it - and buy a much larger bottle in future.
Cranberry Turtle Bars
These Cranberry Turtle Bars combine cranberries, caramel, and chocolate into one colorful, magnificent bite, obviously with the cranberries they are perfect for Christmas but quite frankly any time of the year that you make these they will be perfect for right there, right then. Visit the website and have a look they are worth the visit.
S’Mores Cookies
I couldn't possibly do a dessert page without some cookies, sometimes all you need is just that little something at the end of a meal without going the whole way of having a dessert, not convinced? These are not just your run of the mill cookie - these little beauties are packed full of mini marshmallows, brown sugar for just the right amount of fudginess, chocolate chips and as if that's not enough they are topped with some coarsely chopped pieces of Hershey bar.
