New Orleans BBQ Shrimp- it's not what you think.
Grilled shrimp? Nope!
When you hear BBQ or bar-b-que, visions of charcoal and oak smoke come to mind. When we talk of BBQ Shrimp it a whole 'nuther bird. Broiled shrimp in buttery sauce with bread for dipping is a perfect meal with good friends.
What you need:
1 pound fresh heads on shrimp
1 small onion-chopped fine
2 large cloves garlic-crushed
1 small roma tomato-chopped fine
3 green onions chopped fine or one shallot
4 ounces beer (1/2 cup)
4 ounces Worchestershire sauce (1/2 cup)
1 Fresh loaf of FRENCH bread cut into slices 1/2 stick of fresh butter
1 large tablespoon of Cajun Seasoning
1/2 Tablespoon of chopped rosemary Table spoon olive oil
Turn oven on to Broil
Serves 2 or 3
Fresh Is Best
Time to add Shrimp!
Suck the heads and dip the tails!
We use a a nice wide pan that is oven safe. You can buy one on eBay or Amazon like we did.
