No Bake, low Sugar, Strawberry Graham Cracker Pie
Diabetic Friendly
If you’re like me you love deserts, but wish they were just a little more low in sugar. Here is a fun way to make a low sugar desert that is delicious, diabetic friendly, and there is no baking involved.
What you will need to get you started.
- (2) one pound containers of Large size Strawberries
- (2) Already made Graham Cracker pie crust. ( these usually only have 6 grams of sugar, If you make your own from scratch it adds 20 more grams of sugar to the pie )
- (1) Package of Sugar Free Glaze
- (1) Container of Sugar Free whipped cream (optional)
Take one pound of strawberries and cut them into four halves
Place strawberries in a bowl
Cut the top of the glazed package open
Pour half of the content in the bowl with the one pound cut strawberries
Stir the content up until each strawberry is completely covered.
Pour the glazed strawberries in one of the graham cracker pie crust and spread them around evenly
At this time you may spread the sugar free whipped cream over the strawberries or leave it without and place the whipped cream on individual slices.
Kids Love Strawberries No Matter What
Kids love to eat strawberries no matter what the pie looks like. So you don't have to spend to much time making the whipped cream on top look fancy, they will eat it anyway.
You Can Make It Look Fancy
If you want to make it fancy and more decorative. You can purchase cake decorating tools at most locations that sell baking goods. They range in price anywhere from $3.00 and up, depending on the type you get. I have placed some links below for you to search

Be Couscous If You Are Diabetic
As a Diabetic you know it is crucial for you to maintain your weight and keep blood sugar down. The best way to do this is to make sure you strategically time your snacking throughout the day. You also know that not just any snack will do, you will have to make sure those snacks are low in sugar and are nutritious. You also know that even though the snack may say sugar free or low sugar there could also be hidden substance in the product that will make your sugar rise. One thing to keep in mind is, always eat in moderation. Remember too much of one thing can be bad for you, so never overindulge. Make sure you have the nutrition facts on the foods you eat. Even the organic foods have nutritional facts and some fruits and vegetables will raise your sugar. One thing I found very interesting when doing research on what foods to eat. I came across an article on http://www.sharecare.com that says Artificial Sweeteners are bad for you. According to the article; “Many people think artificial sweeteners are harmless additives and a good choice if you have diabetes. Not so, Hyman says. "Artificial sweeteners slow metabolism and increase fat deposition, and can increase the risk of diabetes by 67%." If you need to satisfy a sweet tooth, Mills says, you're better off enjoying foods made with real sweeteners on occasion and in moderation.”
The sad thing about this article, many people do not know this. They use artificial sweeteners as a substitute for real sweeteners thinking they are safe, when in reality they are actually doing more harm than good.
