EASY Sugar Cookies

Updated on October 17, 2012

Fast Fun Baking

My daughter says her kids love to bake these cookies with her. This is a fun project for little ones because it's fast and they will be eating sweet cookies in no time!

You will need:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter or butter substitute
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • a small dish filled with sugar
  • a juice glass with a flat bottom

Cream butter and sugar, add egg and vanilla, then add baking soda, cream of tartar and flour. Mold dough into balls about the size of a golf ball. Place the balls on a baking sheet. Dip the bottom of the juice glass in sugar before you press down each ball to flatten into cookie.

Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.

Once cooled serve with milk or hot chocolate.
