My girlfriend wrote this in 5th grade!

Cake, cake, how lovely a thing,

I make you and bake you

And frost you and TING!

The timer goes off And you're ready to eat.

Cake, cake, what a wonderful treat!

Vanilla, chocolate,Carrot cake, too!

Round cakes Short cakes, And cakes just for you!

Cake goes with ice cream.Cake goes with frosting

(Be careful because the baking's exhausting!)

Cake goes with pie, And cake goes with milk,

Which runs down your throat,

Like a bolt of soft silk.

Cake, cake how lovely a thing,

I make you and bake you

And frost you and TING!

This is so cute I just had to share with my fb fans, where I have told them where I found it. I hope it's ok, and thank you for sharing your girlfriends awesome ode! lol! We have "cake day" every friday on the page and this was a great way to start this one!

What a wonderful poem. It reflects my own very dear fondness for one of the greatest inventions ever - the cake, cupcake, or muffin. LOL.
