Pizza Sauce For Rookies
Creating A Great Tasting Pizza Sauce
Homemade Pizza Sauce
3-4 Beefsteak Tomotoes
I large yellow onion, diced
extra-virgin olive oil
3-4 large garlic cloves, smashed with flat knife
1/4 cup of red wine
In a medium saucepan on medium heat, add olive oil to coat pan. Add onion and garlic, sautee around 5 mins until onion is translucent. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add tomatoes and mix together. Reduce heat to low and simmer for nearly 35-40 minutes. Midway through the cooking process, add wine and Italian seasoning. Continue to reduce down until most moisture has evaporated.
If tomatoe sauce is overly tart, you may want to add some sugar to take edge or bite off the sauce.
Season to taste.
