Sharing my love for Portabella Mushrooms

My love for mushrooms goes a long way back since I was a kid the way they taste, the way the flavor was so good I but when I found out that there where many types of mushrooms I wanted to taste them all, but the ones that really made me want more and mre is the portabella mushrooms. I call them the meat of all mushrooms they are really meaty and and has a very robust flavor, so today I like to share with you a few ways thats I prepare these great tasting mushrooms.

Savory Sauteed Portabellas cut into cubes

4 ounces of fresh mushrooms

1/4 cup of finely chopped onions

1 tsp of butter

1 tsp of olive oil

1 tsp of soy sauce

1/2 tsp of sugar

1/4 tsp of coarse black pepper

1/8 tsp whole marjoram or oregano

1/16 tsp (dash) of ground savory

Saute mushrooms, onions, butter,and olive oil in a fry pan on high heat for 2 minutes( do not over cook ). Add the remaining five ingredients to the saute mixture. Mix well. at this point there you do not need to cook any longer just serve over your favorite meat, potatoes, or rice.

Recipe no# 2

Pasta Sauce with Chunky Portabellas

For this recipe you need to get a can of 4 oz chunky mushrooms

1 4oz can of chunky portabella mushrooms packed in its juice

1 28 0z can of crushed tomatoes

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1/2 tsp of finely chopped garlic

1/2 tsp of salt

1/2 tsp of onion powder

1/4 tsp of dried basil leaves

1/4 tsp of dried oregano

1/8 tsp of crushed red pepper

Combine all the ingredients in a medium sauce pan, stirring well, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 to 15 minutes, serve over pasta or pierogies, sprinkle with parmesan cheese., I'm sure you will ove these great tasting recipes.
