Prohibition from Eating Pork in Accordance to God's Law

Updated on December 9, 2016

EATING PORK: A Bad Habit as the Bible says...

Let me first give you some insights from the Bible:

"And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you. " --Leviticus 11:7-8

It is also stated in the Qur'an:

"He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that of God." -- Surat-ul Baqara (2):173

In 2 Maccabees 7:1-2

"1 It happened also that seven brothers and their mother were arrested and were being compelled by the king, under torture with whips and cords, to partake of unlawful swine’s flesh. 2 One of them, acting as their spokesman, said, “What do you intend to ask and learn from us? For we are ready to die rather than transgress the laws of our fathers.”

In previous time, people who are accused or guilty of any sin were given and forced to eat swine's flesh as a torture and maltreatment. Simply because they want the sinful from Earth to be also sinful to God's eye. It is highly prohibited according to God's law to not eat pork.

Why you won't believe it is really bad for the health when it is already part of God's law?

CAUTION: According to Consumer Reports 2013

It was reported by Consumer Reports year 2013 that there are pork samples tested to have contain yersinia enterocolitica, a bacterium that can cause fever, diarrhea, and abdominal pain, was widespread. Some samples harbored other potentially harmful bacteria, including salmonella.

According to the report:

“We found salmonella, staphylococcus aureus, or listeria monocytogenes, more common causes of foodborne illness, in 3 to 7 percent of samples. And 11 percent harbored enterococcus, which can indicate fecal contamination and can cause problems such as urinary tract-infections.”

Pigs are hosts to various parasites and viruses that can cause infections and illnesses which are transmitted directly to humans consuming them.

Not only they can bring lot of diseases to humans, they also bring diseases that are immune to antibiotics which make people hard to resist them. In short, there is only a little probability that once people incur the disease, they can resist them or flush them out of their system.

DO YOU KNOW THAT?

Some antibiotics used to treat infections in people are also fed to pigs to speed their growth or prevent illness. But bacteria may evolve to become immune to antibiotics, at which point the drugs become less effective in treating people infected by those bugs.
