Pulled Pork and Mushrooms

If you like pork as much as I do then your going to love this slow roasting recipe, Its pulled pork with mushrooms with some tasty dice tomatoes and a hint of red pepper flakes to give it that spicy flavor .

With some simple ingredients that you have right in your home you can make this meal and your family and friends will love it, and if for some reason they can't have pork that's OK just replace that pork with a nice piece of chuck roast and just follow the same instructions for a very good meal.

Cooking Spray

3 pounds of boneless pork shoulder

2 cans of 14oz diced tomatoes, undrained

1 can of 6oz tomato paste

1 package 0.87oz mushroom gravy mix

3 tablespoons of packed brown sugar

1 package 8oz sliced fresh mushrooms

1/4 teaspoon of pepper flakes

1/2 cup of water


Preheat the oven on 225 degrees

Spray the dutch oven with the cooking spray, place the pork in the dutch oven, Combine the water the gravy mix, diced tomatoes,pepper flakes, tomato paste, brown sugar and sliced mushrooms in a bowl mix together well and pour over the pork roast.

Cover and place the the pork in the preheated oven and cook for 6 to 8 hours 0r until fork tender. When the cooking process is over remove from the dutch oven let cool for a few minutes then pull apart with your hand or a fork then place the pork back into the liquid and serve the pork on your favorite type of bread or roll
