Updated on December 9, 2013

Calling All pickle Lovers! Crunch On This!!

Hi everybody! This is a recipe that I have been making for years. Actually, it's a recipe that both my parents have used to make refrigerator pickles when my siblings and I were growing up... and we always loved these pickles. It's a very simple recipe, but tastes really, really great! I enjoy making these pickles any time during the year, but mainly during the summer months when I can buy my cukes from the local farm, oh the freshness! i just love pickles. They're great alone, or with sandwiches, burgers, etc. Hope you enjoy the recipe, too! if you make some... let me know what you think! :)

4 to 5 firm cucumbers
2 cloves garlic
1 small head dill
2 tsp. salt Brine Recipe: 1 c. sugar
2 c. white vinegar, diluted slightly
1/2 tsp. pepper Cut cucumbers 1/4 inch thick. Chop garlic fine. Put cucumbers and garlic in a large bowl. Sprinkle with salt. Mix well and let stand for 2 hours. Meanwhile, mix the sugar, vinegar and pepper together. Do not drain cucumbers. Add vinegar mixture to cucumbers and mix well. Pickles can be eaten the next day. Keep refrigerated.
