Tip To Use Up Packs of Soy Sauce
So Many Packs of Soy Sauce.
I am not fond of Chinese Food...however, my husband just can't get enough of it! From time to time I find packs of the Free Soy Sauce that comes with my husband's carry out Chinese Food all over the place! He saves them in plastic storage bags, jars, or just throws them in our fruit and vegetable bins in the fridge. He puts them there... and I throw them out!
Years and Years of the Same Routine...
Regularly, I clean out the refrigerator. I rotate, clean and search for hidden items that get away from us... sometimes a few items are unrecognizable! I don't take any chances, if I don't know what in the world the item is, I throw it out! We have been married for over 30 years. I am determined to make this the last year that I waste time hunting down and flinging those Soy Sauce Packs into the trash.
The one thing that my husband likes more than Chinese Food is Soup. In the Wintertime I try to make a different soup each week. I have now replaced ALL salt with those annoying packs of Soy Sauce. I know that salt does not cost a lot of money, however, every penny counts and so far, so good! I've asked him how the soup tastes and he says...great! So he hasn't detected my swap-a-roonie, yet.
To make it interesting I keep extra packs of the Soy Sauce in a Empty and Cleaned Chinese Food Rice Container. Works well for me.
I keep those packs of Soy Sauce under control and never store more packs of them than can fit into one Rice Container. Wow...I've really learned how to turn my trash into saved cash!

- 1 Cup Onion, Chopped
- 1/3 Cup Dried Celery (or Fresh chopped), Flakes
- 1 Tablespoon Oil (Olive or Vegetable)
- 3/4 Cups Carrots, Sliced
- 2 Quarts Homemade or Canned Chicken Broth
- 1 Cup Noodles or Pasta
- 1 Can Beans (of your choice)
- 1 Bunch Kale, Cleaned and Chopped
- 4 Packs Soy Sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Pepper
- Chop Onion, Slice Carrot and Saute' in the oil in a 5 quart soup pot. Add Celery and saute' for 3 minutes.
- Add all other ingredients. Bring to a Boil and Simmer for 1 Hour or until Carrots are soft. Serve.
- Tip of the Day: Free Juice and Drink Cups
Tip of the day: Save your yogurt cups. Wash them with your dishes, dry and stack them, then insert a stack into a clean plastic bag. During the summertime use the yogurt cups instead of buying plastic cups. You will save some money and help stretch y
