Bear N Mom Recipes - Glazed Sweet Meatball Appetizers
This is another recipe that reflects Nunny's favorite saying "Try it -- You'll like it." For this one you have a different appetizer for a party in the form of ground meat and cranberries or the sweet meatball. A friend of mine brought this to a work pot luck lunch. I experimented until I got it right.
- 2 pounds ground meat
- 1 cup corn flake crumbs
- 1/3 cup dried parsley
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/3 cup catsup
- 2 tablesp minced onion
- 1 can (1#) jellied cranberry sauce
- 1 bottle (12 oz.) chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Combine meatball ingredients and shape into walnut size balls. I use a cookie scoop to get the right size.
Mix sauce ingredients together. Pour over meat balls.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Put some pretty toothpicks into those babies and put them out on the table.
In a Hurry Alternative
You can cheat by buying a bag of frozen meatballs at the supermarket and then just making the sauce to pour over them before you bake them. It's not quite the same sense of achievement but it works when you are in a hurry to get done.
