In today's world there are so many obstacles to baking home made Christmas cookies. So let's explore some made with easy already mixed dough and how to spruce them up.

In this recipe you use a tube of sugar cookie dough from the dairy case, flour and a bag of miniature candy bars. I chose to use Snickers, but you can use any of the selections that are plentiful at Christmas time. Candy kisses and malted milk balls would also work well in these.

Although this a quickie recipe, you can use the dough from your basic butter or sugar cookie to make these.

Preparation

In a small bowl, beat the cookie dough and 1/3 cup flour until combined. I used a dough cutter that you would normally cut sugar into margarine and it worked fine. Once you have the flour totally mixed into the dough, form a ball of dough around your piece of candy.

Shape 1-1/2 teaspons of dough (I found the dough baller at a local Bed, Bath and Beyond) around each of the miniature candy bars.

Rolling the balls in red and green colored sugar add to the Christmas theme and makes the cookie more appealing. You can use any kind of sprinkles to attain a different effect for any of the holidays.

Place each cookie on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 350° for about 10-12 minutes.

Lift the cookies with a small spatula onto wire racks to cool.
