Reese's Peanut Butter Ice Cream Bars

Updated on July 24, 2015

When I was a kid one of my favorite candies was Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. From time to time I still buy a pack of them when I get the craving. Right now with summer's heat I tend to gravitate towards ice cream treats. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that there is a Reese's peanut butter ice cream bar. Boy did I love the Reese's Peanut Butter Ice Cream Bars. The box I bought came six to a pack. I paid $3.99 which I thought was a great price. The box is the familiar Reese's orange. I was at the store doing my regular grocery shopping and I thought I should also pick up something sweet to eat for those late night cravings. I went to the ice cream section and I was immediately drawn to the Reese's ice cream bars. First off I have always been a big peanut butter and chocolate person. I have tried several other chocolate and peanut butter ice cream bars and I have to say this is one of my favorites. Later that night the craving hit me and I had one of the bars. They are individually wrapped in a white wrapper. When you open it up it actually looks like a Reese's peanut butter cup but much bigger. It is covered in the same chocolate that the regular peanut butter cups are covered in and filled with, I believe, vanilla ice cream. The ice cream also has chunks of peanut butter in it. It seems to be the same peanut butter that is in the regular Reese's. I took my first bite and it was good. The chocolate around the outside seems thinner and I just got the taste of the vanilla ice cream. Then I took my second bite. In this bite, there it was, the chunks of peanut butter. Also the chocolate she'll was thinker as you bite more into it. This is what brings the whole thing together and makes it so good. In just a few bites it was over. It is very rich and satisfying. The next night I found myself craving another one and it was just as good. I highly recommend this ice cream bar. I promise if you are like me and you have an undying love for and thing that is peanut butter and chocolate you will love this. Also if you have fond childhood memories of Reese's Peanut Butter cups this will take you right back to that magical time.
